Overview

assembly1-scWelcome to the remarkable WNS community. We are a small school with a big heart. Students, faculty, staff and parents enjoy a very close relationship grounded in trust, collaboration, respect and affection.

We are a community of lifelong learners. Each child is honored as an individual and encouraged to develop his/her unique gifts. This year we are nurturing, challenging and inspiring the most diverse student body in the history of the school.

We come together frequently – every morning for a student-led assembly, in family groups and other cross-grade activities, in parent forums, for athletic games and special events.

We are small enough to focus on each student's needs, yet large enough to offer a wide range of opportunities.

Our faculty and staff are well-trained, highly experienced and dedicated educators who are motivated to learn and grow as much as their students. They care passionately about each child's success. By teaching here, they have chosen to be part of an energetic, creative and compassionate community that embraces the diversity of every member.

Parents – vital members of the WNS community – contribute in countless ways. They serve as room parents, readers in the library, tour guides during open houses and host parents to new families. The WNS Parent Group, in liaison with the school's administration, supports the school's mission by sponsoring educational workshops, fundraising for a portion of the school's operating budget and organizing social events such as ice skating, the annual book fair and other community events.

New families integrate into the school's community through pairing with a host family and by attending numerous events such as the Spring Event, a new family reception in the spring and a new family picnic in the summer.

WNS graduates, wherever they go, contribute to the world with confidence, creativity, curiosity, conscience and compassion – all hallmarks of a WNS education.
